Saturday, September 5, from 1:00 to 4:00pm is Open Canopy: all the galleries and artist studios are open, and there are drinks & vendors in the common areas, so it's a great time to come see Joe's work and explore the Canopy community.

On Saturday, September 26, from 7:00 to 9:00pm, we'll have an evening reception.

Joe Max Emminger, a self-taught painter from Seattle, Washington, developed an interest in art in the early 1970's and educated himself with books at the University of Washington art library. Painting became a central part of his life and he has painted every day since. His work, which is always whimsical, and serious, and seriously sentimental, employs bold colors and strong lines to depict scenes of family life, animals, musicians, Seattle landmarks, and fanciful creatures.
