Don’t miss the Lynch-themed fundraiser at Sage Studio this October 3rd from 8-10pm, located in the Canopy community at 916 Springdale Rd.
10/3 from 8–10 pm SAGE Studio
From Sage Studio:
Join us on Friday, October 3rd from 8-10pm for a surreal soiree! The Owls Are Not What They Seem: A Night at the Black Lodge is a ticketed event at SAGE Studio to kick off our fall fundraising drive. Attendees get a first look at and chance to shop our Twin Peaks-inspired group exhibition featuring work by 16 artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities from Texas and beyond! The gallery has been transformed into David Lynch’s red-drenched velveteen portal in honor of the iconic television series and its cast of characters.
To completely transport guests to the mysterious small town, we’ve teamed up with some of our favorite local vendors. Sip on a Damn Fine Espresso Martini from Holiday on 7th, enjoy a variety of Just Enough wines (including an NA option), or sample the latest beer collaboration between Hold Out and Studio Artist Chris Cody, a coffee forward porter that Dale Cooper would appreciate. No Twin Peaks celebration would be complete without a sweet treat. Mercado Sin Nombre is whipping up donuts and Pie Bar is batching tiny pies a la The Double R Diner. Sip and snack while DJ GrossYall spins spooky tunes. Ticket holders also have the opportunity to bring a cotton item (think bandana or patch) to have stitched with a custom Twin Peaks flash courtesy of Fort Lonesome. Though not required, kick off the Halloween season and come dressed as your favorite resident of Twin Peaks!
October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month. Only 9% of Texans with intellectual and developmental disabilities are gainfully employed and the jobs available to them are often very limited and not tailored to their particular passions and interests. It is SAGE's mission to provide artists with disabilities the space, materials, and support to pursue a career in the visual arts. Come celebrate our artists and the importance of their creative careers and earning potential!
